Description
The Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus supplies breathable compressed air to trained personnel operating in smoke, toxic atmospheres or oxygen-deficient shipboard spaces. A backplate, harness, pressure reducer, demand valve, full-face mask and high-pressure cylinder form a portable breathing system. Optional distress alarms and telemetry can support emergency teams. Cylinder material, working pressure, duration, mask size, alarm system, spare cylinder provision, test status and marine approval must meet the vessel fire plan.
