Description
The Polypropylene Mooring Rope is a lightweight floating line used for routine berthing, shifting and securing of commercial vessels. Three-strand, eight-strand and twelve-strand constructions are available for different handling and splicing requirements. The rope resists water absorption and is easier to handle than many heavier fibre ropes, but heat, abrasion and prolonged ultraviolet exposure can reduce service life. Diameter, construction, minimum breaking load, eye splice, length, colour, marker yarn and certificate must match the vessel mooring plan.
