Description
The Mooring Rope Tail is connected to a low-stretch main mooring line to provide controlled elasticity and energy absorption during vessel movement. Nylon and polyester tails are commonly supplied with spliced eyes, protective sleeves and traceable identification. Correct tail selection can reduce peak loading on high-modulus ropes and deck fittings, but incompatible strength or elongation can compromise the mooring system. Material, construction, diameter, length, minimum breaking load, eye size, chafe protection, connection method and certificate must match the mooring analysis.
