Description
The Marine Passivation Chemical is used on compatible stainless steel to remove free iron contamination and support formation of a clean passive surface after fabrication, welding or approved cleaning. Nitric-acid, citric-acid and specialty formulations require different concentrations and contact times. Passivation is not a substitute for correct pickling where heat tint or heavy oxide must be removed. Grade compatibility, surface preparation, application, temperature, rinsing, neutralization, verification, ventilation, PPE and effluent control must follow the product procedure.
