Description
The Marine AIS Transponder broadcasts and receives vessel identity, position, course, speed and voyage-related information to improve situational awareness between ships and shore stations. Class A units support SOLAS carriage requirements, while Class B models serve eligible smaller or auxiliary craft. Integrated displays and black-box versions can connect to GNSS, radar, ECDIS and pilot-plug arrangements. AIS class, transmit power, GNSS antenna, VHF antenna, interfaces, display, pilot port, programming and approval must match the vessel requirement.
