Description
The Liferaft Hydrostatic Release Unit allows a secured inflatable life raft to separate automatically if the vessel sinks before manual launching. Increasing water pressure activates the release at a specified depth, while a weak link permits the inflated raft to break free after painter operation. The unit is installed between the deck securing arrangement and raft lashing. Model compatibility, service life, installation orientation, weak-link rating, replacement date and approval must match the raft and vessel arrangement.
