Description
The GMDSS Portable VHF Radio is intended for emergency communication between survival craft, rescue units and the parent vessel during abandon-ship and search-and-rescue operations. Rugged waterproof construction, simple controls and high-visibility housings support use in stressful conditions. Rechargeable batteries may be used for drills, while sealed primary batteries are reserved for emergencies. Channel configuration, battery package, operating duration, charger, storage bracket and SOLAS or GMDSS approval must match the vessel safety plan.
